Small Government, huh?

This past weekend, the Bush Administration prepared a draft of a new bailout plan for Wall Street. The uncertainty of Wall Street has put a bit of a scare into all of us. The $700,000,000,000 Wall Street bail out plan that the Bush Administration has proposed is is only $200,000,000,000 less than what the Administration has spent to date on the Iraq War. In addition to the $700,000,000,000 bail out plan, the Administration proposes to create a new government body that will oversee this plan.

For a political party that prides themselves on small government and reducing tax spending, the proposed Wall Street bail out plan and new government body to oversee it, the Iraq War, and the Homeland Security seem to go against the small government idea.

I am not completely opposed to these programs; it just seems hypocritical for a republican president to do this. Maybe he really wants to be a Democrat?
