Statistics show that within 50 years, (based on the current growth rate of Texas) Texas will be approximately 15-20% deficient in water capacity even using alternative and conventional systems. Current statistics show that approximately 25% of the water used in populated areas goes directly toward watering the lawn and garden.
25% is a significant amount of water! It is time that we begin to use drought tolerant and native species in our garden; to harvest water; and to make the most out of this resource that will become so limited. Wasting water is not an acceptable approach anymore.

Steven you missed an interesting talk by an architect from Lake Flato.
He spoke about water use around the rio grande. Some much of the river was being used for large scale ag. that the river didnt make it to the golf anymore. They have since dough it deeper and now a trickle does make it.
